Moya is the Zulu word for spirit. This vessel is created by dripping wax around a sphere. The space it holds inside is for secret invisible things. A candle is often lit to remember our ancestors and loved ones in another place. With its memories of wax flowing and pooled, Moya evokes the hands and hearts of this ancient and widespread ritual, inviting our hearts to dance in the unseen flames.
Handcrafted in solid bronze, the sphere is roughly 10cm around. It weighs approximately 400g.
